Hell, Norway

Norway is an awesome country. However, there's a certain town thats...a bit strange. Enter Hell. Hell is usually a minor tourist spot because of it's name, and the town itself has around 1418 people, and the town is 1.48 sq kilometers. Hell has a grocery store, restaurant, retirement home, etc, making it no less than other towns with less awesome names. The origin of the name comes from an Old Norse word called "Hellir" which means overhang or cliff. The Norwegian word Hell means "luck". The Norwegian word for Hell is hellvete. In the winter, temperatures reach -20 C in the winter. Postcards and tourists make a visual joke about "Hell frozen over". The train station is called Hell Station, and is currently active. Plus, there's music festivals in Hell.
Mona Grudt, Miss Universe of 1990, listed herself as "The beauty Queen from Hell" as part of a publicity stunt.

Other cool names are : F*cking, Austria, (Where the * is replaced with an u) Condom, Gers (France), and Truth or Consequences, Mexico.

Did you know that El Pueblo Nuestra Senora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciuncula is a state in the USA? Guess which!
